The Bohra of India

The Bohra of India, numbering approximately 1,355,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a Shia Muslim trading community whose name derives from an Arabic word meaning trader. They trace their origin to Arab merchants who settled in Gujarat and married local converts, and remain prominent in commerce across western India. They are an Indigenous people in the Gujarati people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Gujarati and their primary religion is Shia Islam.
