They are described as an ethnic group of Turko-Mongol origins that emerged in Central Asia during the 14th century They are an Indigenous people, with Hazara as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Aimaq people cluster of the Persian-Median Peoples. Their primary religion is Shia Islam. They primarily speak Hazaragi.
