The Makua of Mayotte, numbering approximately 3,300 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are described as a central Bantu ethnic group indigenous to northern Mozambique and the southern border provinces of Tanzania They are an Diaspora people, with Makhuwa as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Bantu, Makua-Yao people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples. They mostly adhere to Folk Islam and Makhuwa-Meetto is their primary language.
