They are one of several subgroups of the Fulbe, the world's largest community of nomadic herders They are an Indigenous people, in the Fulani / Fulbe people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Islam - Sunni. They primarily speak Fulfulde, Western Niger.
