The Mundapotta of India

The Mundapotta of India, numbering approximately 1,600 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a Scheduled Caste of Odisha, also called Anadari, whose mendicant ancestors buried their heads in sand to draw pilgrims' sympathy at Puri. Alms-seeking and acrobatics remain traditional, supplemented by wage labor. They mostly adhere to Hinduism and Telugu is their primary language.
