The Segidi of India

The Segidi of India, numbering approximately 12,500 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a community of Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts, Andhra Pradesh, traditionally toddy-sellers and arrack-distillers, their name recalling scarring palm trees for sap. Agriculture and trade have replaced this occupation. They mostly adhere to Hinduism and Telugu is their primary language.
