The Bagirmi Fula of Chad

The Bagirmi Fula of Chad, numbering approximately 108,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a Fulani branch historically tied to the 16th-century Sultanate of Bagirmi south of Lake Chad, whose Islamic religious role in the kingdom grew alongside tribute owed to its Barma rulers, today combining farming with semi-sedentary herding.
