Overview: The Vokkaliga are a major Hindu land owning commumunity in the Karnataka state of India. Some of their subgroups are also distributed in the adjoining areas of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. The Vokkaliga are non-vegetarian. Their clans are typically exogamous. Kannada is their mother tongue but they also speak Malayalam.
