Overview: Sulawesi is the world's eleventh largest island and Indonesia's fourth largest island. The Tukangbesi Islands are a group of islands off the southern coast of South East Sulawesi. Inhabitants of the five main Tukangbesi islands--Wanci, Kambode, Kaledupa, Tomia, and Binongko--form the Tukangbesi of Sulawesi people cluster. Their economy is based on fishing and trading throughout the island regions of Indonesia and Malaysia. Sunni Islam is the dominant religion.
