The Baharupi of India, numbering approximately 5,300 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are described as a traditional community of mimics and folk-theater performers whose name derives from the Sanskrit bahu ("many") and rupa ("form"), meaning one who assumes many characters. They are concentrated in Maharashtra, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab They are an Indigenous people, with Baharupi as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Marathi-Konkani people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism. They primarily speak Marathi.
