The Sudir of India

The Sudir of India, numbering approximately 6,300 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a community of Uttara Kannada district, Karnataka, who migrated from Goa, organized into matrilineal clans, comprising both Hindu and Roman Catholic sections. Agricultural and plantation wage labor remain their main occupations today. They are an Indigenous people in the Marathi-Konkani people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Tulu and their primary religion is Hinduism.
