They are a Central African ethnolinguistic group belonging to the Ubangian branch of the Niger‑Congo language family, primarily located in northwestern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), especially along the Ubangi River basin and the Gemena region. They are an Indigenous people in the Adamawa-Ubangi people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Ngbaka and their primary religion is Roman Catholicism.
