The Mon of Myanmar

The Mon of Myanmar, numbering approximately 881,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are one of Southeast Asia’s oldest Indigenous peoples, founders of some of the region’s earliest civilizations and a major cultural force in what is now Myanmar and Thailand. They are an Indigenous people in the Mon-Khmer people cluster of the Southeast Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Mon and their primary religion is Theravada Buddhism.
