They are an ethnic group of mixed Portuguese and Cantonese descent whose identity originated in Portuguese Colonial Macau. Macaense, 土生葡人, Maquista They are an Indigenous people, in the Other Southeast Asian people cluster of the Southeast Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Christianity - Protestantism. They primarily speak Chinese, Yue.
