The Sapalyas of India

The Sapalyas of India, numbering approximately 4,300 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a community of Dakshina Kannada district, Karnataka, synonymous with the Tulu section of the Ganiga, traditionally oil-pressers and temple musicians. Settled cultivation and agricultural labor remain their primary occupations. They are an Indigenous people in the Other South Asian people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Tulu and their primary religion is Hinduism.
