They are a hereditary community of Muslim folhereditary Muslim community of folk musicians from Rajasthan, traditionally tied to Rajput patrons, known for preserving desert music and oral history. They are an Indigenous people in the Rajasthani people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Marwari (India) and their primary religion is Sunni Islam.
