The Bhatrajulu of India

The Bhatrajulu of India, numbering approximately 77,500 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a Telugu-speaking community of traditional musicians and ballad singers concentrated in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. Their name derives from bhat, meaning lord, and raju, meaning ruler, and many now depend on cultivation for their livelihood. They are an Indigenous people in the Telugu people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Telugu and their primary religion is Hinduism.
