The Kocu Wellan of India

The Kocu Wellan of India, numbering approximately 200 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a Scheduled Tribe of the hill forests of Kottayam, Idukki, and Pathanamthitta districts in Kerala, also called Mala Ulladan. Once hunter-gatherers, they now practice settled cultivation, basket-making, and forest produce collection. They are an Indigenous people in the South Asian Tribal people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Malayalam and their primary religion is Hinduism.
