The Kocu Wellan of India, numbering approximately 200 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are described as a Scheduled Tribe of the hill forests of Kottayam, Idukki, and Pathanamthitta districts in Kerala, also called Mala Ulladan. Once hunter-gatherers, they now practice settled cultivation, basket-making, and forest produce collection They are an Indigenous people, with Kocu Wellan as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the South Asian Tribal people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. They mostly adhere to Hinduism and Malayalam is their primary language.
