The Chari of India

The Chari of India, numbering approximately 125 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are an occupational caste of Goa. The Chari are traditionally carpenters and blacksmiths who speak Konkani and trace their origin to the divine architect Vishwakarma, now pursuing diverse occupations and education. They mostly adhere to Hinduism and Konkani (individual language) is their primary language.
