The Chamail of India

The Chamail of India, numbering approximately 1,200 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a semi-nomadic Muslim community of Bihar concentrated around Barauni, Munger and Patna, whose name derives from cham (animal hide), reflecting a traditional livelihood of treating cattle and horses and selling meat. They mostly adhere to Sunni Islam and Hindi is their primary language.
