The Manjygur Muslims of India

The Manjygur Muslims of India, numbering approximately 250 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are described as a Sunni Muslim community of Kashmiri street food vendors (fish pakora, nadru, chestnuts) concentrated in Srinagar. The Manjygur speak both Urdu and Kashmiri and use the Perso-Arabic scripts. Today, some also engage in agriculture, service, and business They are an Indigenous people, with Manjygur as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Kashmiri people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. They mostly adhere to Sunni Islam and Urdu is their primary language.
