The Borewale of India

The Borewale of India, numbering approximately 900 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a small Urdu-speaking Muslim community of the Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh, formerly nomadic mendicants who now weave palm-leaf mats, a craft that gave them their name from bore, meaning mat. They are also known as Deera Pakheerulu. They are an Indigenous people in the Urdu people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Urdu and their primary religion is Sunni Islam.
