They are a tribal subgroup of Baggara Arabs in Sudan's White Nile region They are an Indigenous people, in the Arab, Shuwa people cluster of the Arab Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Islam - Sunni. They primarily speak Arabic, Sudanese.
