The Jimdar of India

The Jimdar of India, numbering approximately 99,500 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a Garhwal community of Uttar Pradesh descended from the ancient Khas people who assumed Rajput status after intermarrying with migrant Rajput settlers. They are traditionally engaged in agriculture and pastoralism. They mostly adhere to Hinduism and Garhwali is their primary language.
