The Jimdar of India

The Jimdar of India, numbering approximately 99,000 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a Garhwal community of Uttar Pradesh descended from the ancient Khas people who assumed Rajput status after intermarrying with migrant Rajput settlers. They are traditionally engaged in agriculture and pastoralism. They are also known as Garhwali Jimdar, Garhwali Jimdar Rajput. They are an Indigenous people in the Rajput people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Garhwali and their primary religion is Hinduism.
