The Mahtam of India

The Mahtam of India, numbering approximately 1,725,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a community of Punjab also called Mahton, identifying as Rai Sikh though their status is disputed by other Rai Sikh groups. Agriculture, wage labor, and rope-making remain their main occupations and they follow Sikhism. They are an Indigenous people in the Punjabi people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Punjabi, Eastern and their primary religion is Sikhism.
