The Chunari of India

The Chunari of India, numbering approximately 64,500 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a West Bengal lime-burning and plastering caste also known as Tamuli for their earlier craft of making copper upper-arm bangles, historically dependent on the lime trade though many have since shifted into labor and cultivation. They are an Indigenous people in the Bengali people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Bengali and their primary religion is Hinduism.
