The Chunari of India

The Chunari of India, numbering approximately 64,500 people, are Unengaged and Unreached.
They are described as a West Bengal lime-burning and plastering caste also known as Tamuli for their earlier craft of making copper upper-arm bangles, historically dependent on the lime trade though many have since shifted into labor and cultivation.
They are an Indigenous people in the Bengali people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc.
Bengali is their primary language and Hinduism is their primary religion.

Unengaged and Unreached

The Chunari are Unengaged and Unreached, which means there are less than 2% evangelical Christian populations among which there are no known efforts focused on establishing self-sustaining churches consistent with evangelical faith and practice.

Unreached yet Engaged

The Chunari are Engaged yet Unreached, which means there are less than 2% evangelical Christian populations but there are sustained efforts at establishing self-sustaining churches consistent with evangelical faith and practice.

No longer Unreached

The Chunari are No Longer Unreached, which means there are more than 2% evangelical Christian populations and there are churches consistent with evangelical faith and practice. There is still more to be done among them.

Ask God to open doors for believers to share the gospel and help them communicate it clearly so that more people will understand the mystery of Christ and turn to follow Him.
