They are a large Telugu-speaking community of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh historically associated with agriculture, fisheries, village administration, and military service, and today active across farming, business, politics, and modern professions. They are an Indigenous people in the Telugu people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Telugu and their primary religion is Hinduism.
