The Creole-Mauritians of Mauritius, numbering approximately 276,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are described as a people descended from enslaved Africans brought mainly from Mozambique and Madagascar to work Mauritius's plantation economy from 1715, who developed Morisyen creole in the 1700s, retaining Afro-Malagasy traditions in music, cuisine, and spirituality They are an Indigenous people, with Mauritian Creole as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Other Sub-Saharan African people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples. They mostly adhere to Roman Catholicism and Morisyen is their primary language.
