They are an ethnolinguistic community of Tanzania, Tanga region, Muheza District, narrow strip of northeast coast between Tanga and Kenya border They are an Indigenous people, in the Bantu, East-Coastal people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Islam - Sunni. They primarily speak Segeju.
