The Mwera of Tanzania, numbering approximately 993,000 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are an ethnolinguistic community of Tanzania, southeast Tanzania, mostly Lindi region, Nachingwea, Ruangwa, and Lindi Urban and Rural districts, north of Makonde. They are an Indigenous people in the Bantu, Makua-Yao people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Mwera (Tanzania, Lindi Region) and their primary religion is Sunni Islam.
