They are an ethnolinguistic subgroup of the Dagaaba people in Burkina Faso They are an Indigenous people, in the Gur people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Islam - Folk. They primarily speak Dagaari Dioula.
