The Tumale of Sudan, numbering approximately 13,000 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a Tagoi people of the northeastern Nuba Mountains whose homeland was once part of the ancient Kingdom of Kush, later ruled by the 18th-century Taqali kingdom under a tradition of divine kingship until its Mahdist defeat. They mostly adhere to Sunni Islam and Tagoi is their primary language.
