They are an Austroasiatic-speaking Munda tribal group indigenous to the Indian subcontinent They are an Indigenous people, in the Munda-Santal people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Christianity - Protestantism. They primarily speak Santhali.
