The Kahua of Solomon Islands

The Kahua of Solomon Islands, numbering approximately 5,800 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a Melanesian people of eastern coastal Makira Island in the Solomon Islands, whose oral tradition of storytelling and genealogical recitation survived nineteenth-century blackbirding labor recruitment and Anglican and Catholic missionization. They mostly adhere to Protestantism and Kahua is their primary language.
