The Salang of Laos

The Salang of Laos, numbering approximately 1,000 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are described as a Bahnaric-speaking highland people of southern Laos's Attapu province, known as Salang on the Lao side and Halang across the border in Vietnam's Kon Tum province, part of the broader Lao Theung highland ethnic cluster They are an Indigenous people, with Halang as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Mon-Khmer people cluster of the Southeast Asian Peoples. They mostly adhere to Animism and Halang is their primary language.
