The Akurio of Brazil

The Akurio of Brazil, numbering approximately 40 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are one of the smallest and most historically isolated Indigenous peoples of South America. They are a Cariban‑speaking hunter‑gatherer group indigenous to the deep rainforest interior of Suriname, in the eastern Guiana Shield region of northern South America. Akuriyo, Akuliyo, Wayaricuri They are an Diaspora people, in the South American Indigenous people cluster of the Latin American and Caribbean Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Ethnoreligion. They primarily speak Trió.
