The Namdagur of India

The Namdagur of India, numbering approximately 1,200 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a community of Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, whose felt-furnishing craft was introduced from Central Asia roughly a century ago by a Kashmiri merchant. Felt-work remains their main livelihood and they follow the Hanafi school of Islam. They are an Indigenous people in the Kashmiri people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Kashmiri and their primary religion is Sunni Islam.
