The Pambada of India, numbering approximately 3,800 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a Scheduled Caste of Dakshina Kannada district, Karnataka, tracing ancestry to a woman named Devan Pambadevi. Traditionally spirit-possession dancers, today agricultural wage labor and bidi-rolling now supplement this ritual role. They mostly adhere to Hinduism and Tamil is their primary language.
