The Aiton of India

The Aiton of India, numbering approximately 4,100 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are an ethnolinguistic community of Assam who speak the Aiton language, migrated from Burma's Shan state in the eighteenth century, practice Buddhism, and are distributed in Jorhat and Karbi-Anglong districts. They are an Indigenous people in the South Asian Buddhist people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Aiton and their primary religion is Theravada Buddhism.
