They are described as an Indigenous people of the Russian Far East, traditionally inhabiting the northern Kamchatka Peninsula and surrounding mainland coast along the Bering Sea and can also be known as Koryak. They are an Indigenous people, with Koryak as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Ural-Siberian people cluster of the Turkic Peoples. Their primary religion is Shamanism. They primarily speak Russian.
