The Chungar of India

The Chungar of India, numbering approximately 8,100 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a Sunni Muslim community of Bikaner in Rajasthan whose name marks their historical trade in lime-making, having earlier worked as stone masons and soap-makers after their ancestors were brought from Multan. They are an Indigenous people in the Rajasthani people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Urdu and their primary religion is Sunni Islam.
