The Dharhi of India

The Dharhi of India, numbering approximately 77,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a small Dusadh community of Uttar Pradesh whose name derives from dhar, a long bamboo stick they carried as agricultural field watchmen, now largely dependent on labor and hired musical performance. They are an Indigenous people in the Dusadh people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Urdu and their primary religion is Sunni Islam.
