The Uraly of India

The Uraly of India, numbering approximately 30,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a Scheduled Tribe of Idukki district, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu, tracing descent from a legendary soldier named Mutturaja. Settled cultivation and wage labor have replaced their traditional shifting cultivation and foraging. They mostly adhere to Animism and Malayalam is their primary language.
