The Ganaka of India

The Ganaka of India, numbering approximately 152,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are an Assamese Brahmin community of Assam. Traditionally known as astrologers, ritual specialists, and custodians of calendrical knowledge, they identify with the Surya Vipra or Daivajna Brahman tradition and trace their origins to Sakaldwipiya Brahmins. They are an Indigenous people in the Brahmin people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Assamese and their primary religion is Hinduism.
