The Kanjar of India

The Kanjar of India, numbering approximately 237,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a historically nomadic community of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra, once classified as a criminal tribe under colonial rule. Traditionally hunters and small traders, most now work as laborers. They are an Indigenous people in the Hindi people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Hindi and their primary religion is Folk Hinduism.
