The Dhor of India

The Dhor of India, numbering approximately 176,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are described as a Scheduled Caste of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Gujarat whose name derives from dhor, meaning cattle, traditionally engaged in tanning cattle hide purchased untanned and sold on to leather workers They are an Indigenous people, with Dhor as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Marathi-Konkani people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Folk Hinduism. They primarily speak Marathi.
