The Hari of India

The Hari of India, numbering approximately 1,145,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a historically marginalized community, primarily associated with sanitation work under India’s caste system and can also be known as Bhangi, Mehtac, Bhangi, Mehtor, Hadi. They are an Indigenous people, in the Garo-Tripuri people cluster of the Himalayan Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Hinduism. They primarily speak Bengali.
