They speak Munji, a Pamiri language, and are predominantly Shia Muslims with a distinct mountain cultural identity They are an Indigenous people, with Munji (Afghanistan) as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Kashmiri people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Shia Islam. They primarily speak Munji.
